Pooh Shiesty arrested in North Texas federal kidnapping, robbery case tied to contract dispute

Access Unlocked Thursday, April 2, 2026DALLAS — Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.) was arrested after federal prosecutors in North Texas accused him of participating in a kidnapping and robbery connected to a music-business dispute.

Court filings say the case centers on a Jan. 10 meeting at a Dallas recording studio—reported by local outlets to be on Dallas Parkway—that investigators say was set up to discuss contract terms but escalated into an armed takeover.

Prosecutors allege the victims, identified in documents by initials, were held against their will, threatened with firearms and robbed of high-value items including jewelry and watches. Authorities also allege recording-contract paperwork was signed under duress. The allegations have not been proven in court, and an arrest is not a conviction.

The complaint has drawn added attention because it references the 1017 label, widely associated with Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane (Radric Davis). Prosecutors allege the studio meeting was tied to a dispute involving Pooh Shiesty’s recording agreement.

After the arrest, news reports said Williams was being held in custody in Dallas while participating in a federal residential reentry program.

The case also renews scrutiny of Williams’ prior federal conviction. He pleaded guilty in 2022 to a firearms-related conspiracy charge and was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison; reports later indicated he was released from federal custody in October 2025.
