Access Unlocked Monday July 15, 2024 Azaria Shantae Burton of Gwinnett County, Georgia will be spending life in prison for the murder of her five (5) year-old son, Jayveon Pruitt.
In October of 2023 Burton fatally stabbed her son approximately twenty-two (22) times and attempted to cover up the crime by setting fire to her apartment.
According to the arrest warrant, Burton’s son was killed between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Authorities believe the twenty-three (23) year-old pregnant mother, planned the fire a day prior to the incident.
