Access Unlocked Saturday April 4, 2026 HOUSTON, Texas — A tragic incident unfolded in the Channelview area Friday afternoon when a 2-year-old child was accidentally shot and subsequently airlifted to a hospital, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities reported that a 25-year-old man is now in custody following the event.
Deputies responded to a residence on Onaleigh Drive after receiving a call shortly after noon. The victim’s grandfather, Juan, recounted that the family was gathered in the living room for lunch when they suddenly heard a gunshot. Rushing to the bedroom, they discovered that the child had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
