Ft. Worth, Texas — The city once known for its rough reputation and street rivalries may be on the brink of a much-needed shift, thanks to one of its most respected voices. Twisted Black, the legendary rapper who served over a decade in federal prison on a 30-year sentence, is using his hard-earned freedom and platform to deliver a powerful message to the next generation: Choose Ft. Worth over beef.

Recently, tensions sparked again after local artist Go Yayo dropped a diss record aimed at Jhonnie Damn D — prompting an immediate response that quickly set social media on fire. Fans began taking sides, and old divisions resurfaced in comment sections and group chats across the 817. That’s when Twisted Black decided it was time to speak up — not as a fan, but as an OG of the culture.
“I love both of them, but it’s time to elevate,” Twisted Black said. “Everybody’s calling me, asking me to
step in before something bad happens. They are both grown men — I’m just reminding them there’s money and legacy in peace.”

The Fort Worth veteran made it clear that while he won’t involve himself directly in the drama, his stance is rooted in wisdom and experience. Having lived through the consequences of street choices, he’s now urging artists to learn from the mistakes that once divided Dallas — referencing how Mo3’s tragic death reshaped the New Dallas movement and inspired unity across the region.
“Look how Dallas came together after that loss,” he explained. “Ft. Worth can do the same — we got too much talent and too many voices to waste.”
Beyond words, Twisted Black is putting action behind his message. He’s headlining an upcoming show at The Haltom Theatre on December 12th, alongside OC Chris and Jhonnie Damn D, creating a platform to celebrate music — not beef.
