Access Unlocked Tuesday August 14, 2018 Michael Drejka who killed unarmed twenty-eight (28) year-old Markeis McGlockton this past July in Clearwater, Florida could face up to thirty (30) years in prison.
On Monday forty-eight (48) year-old Drejka was charged with manslaughter for killing McGlockton in a convenience store parking lot, in front of his girlfriend, her children and the couple’s (5) year-old son.
The incident escalated with McGlockton exited the convenience store to find Drejka being confrontational with his girlfriend after the couple had parked their vehicle in a handicap spot. McGlockton a pushed Drejka who fell to the ground. Drejka then shot McGlockton in the chest killing him.
According to reports, Drejka has a history of threatening individuals with gun violence.
Prosecutors have determined, this is not a “stand your ground” shooting.
