Access Unlocked Thursday September 1, 2016 – A wax statue of the late singer Selena Quintanilla, was revealed in Los Angeles yesterday, at Madame Tussauds. The singer’s former husband, family and supporters were present for the unveiling.
Prior to her death, Selena was referred to as the Queen of Tejano music.
The singer was murdered in 1995 by her fan club president, Yolanda Saldivar. The Quintanilla family suspected Saldivar, of embezzling money. Selena confronted Saldivar, who shot the singer in the back with a .38, severing an artery. The superstar died at a hospital, two weeks before her twenty-fourth (24th) birthday.
